Brown Bag Buddies
Brown Bag Buddies (BBB) is a weekend supplemental nutrition program for young students. In October 2011, the I Can Class began delivering bags of shelf-stable, easy-to-open, ready-to-eat, food to 20+ children in Kindergarten and 1st Grade at South Elementary School. At the end of the 2025-26 school year, 50 students in grades Early Childhood, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade at Mt. Carmel Elementary School were weekly BBB recipients.
The success of Brown Bag Buddies lies in financial and hands-on help from the local First Christian Church congregation; from school administration and staff; from community businesses, organizations, and individuals; and from grants.
Additionally, Buehler’s Buy-Low assembles each monthly order for pick up, and then gives a substantial discount, which makes BBB funds go further.
As we look toward the future, the I Can Class says THANK YOU for your continued prayers and support.
